Nick Keitzer, DPT
V.P. of Operations
Born and raised in Hawaii, Nick is a long way from home. Traveling across the States to fulfill his career goal, Nick received his Bachelor of Science in December 2002 from Lindenwood University in St Charles, Missouri. His undergraduate degree was in athletic training. Nick went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006 from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. Shortly thereafter, he joined Sport & Spine Therapy of Marin. Nick's treatment approach includes heavy emphasis on manual therapy and functional rehabilitation to help people achieve their personal health and physical fitness goals. Nick married his beautiful wife Liz, in 2006 and is looking forward to starting a family in the near future. When not working, Nick enjoys playing football and wrestling. Quite often you'll find Nick debating a game or a players stats with patients or co-workers.
Ole Christian Borgesen, PT
Ole received his B.A. in Physical Therapy from Haagse Hoge School Voor Fysiotherapie, in the Hague Holland in 1990. Shortly thereafter, he moved back to his home country Norway where he practiced mainly in the private sector, with emphasis on sports injuries/rehabilitation, until 1999 when he moved to California. He worked with the Norwegian National Hockey team and Vaalerengen ice hockey team from 1993-1996. He also followed Stavanger SIF Handball team during the 1996-1998 seasons. Ole specializes in joint and muscle dysfunctions, with a manual therapy based approach to joint dysfunctions and functional emphasis on muscle rehabilitation.
Kristina Svenson-Brown, PT, CHT
Kristina has lived in Marin County for over 40 years. After graduating from San Rafael High School she attended numerous colleges and got her first degree, Bachelor of Arts in Marine Biology, from San Francisco State University in 1978. Kristina then went on to physical therapy, receiving her Bachelor of Arts and Certificate of Physical Therapy from University of California San Francisco in 1984. After working in acute care for 4 years, Kristina began specializing in hands at Davies Medical Center. She worked with micro surgeons in traumatic hand injuries for 8 years and received her Certification in Hand Therapy in 1992. Kristina works with repetitive strain injuries, traumatic hand injuries, fractures and neurologic patients, incorporating hands-on techniques and splinting. Kristina has enjoyed numerous aspects of Physical Therapy, including inpatient acute care, teaching back classes, ergonomic evaluation and out patient physical therapy. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1992, specializing in upper extremity injuries. As much as Kristina enjoys her work, you'll find her in her personal time enjoying hiking, exercising and playing with her dogs and cat.
Kate Reiber, DPT
Kate graduated from Messiah College in Pennsylvania in 2006 with her Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Exercise Science. She then took a year off from school to work and then to travel to West Africa for a short-term mission trip where she worked alongside locals in a physiotherapy clinic at a school for children with disabilities. She then returned and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2010.
Following this, she remained in Baltimore for a year, working as an outpatient physical therapist for The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and of the Orthopaedic specialty section. Her passions include manual therapy, the female athlete and encouraging people to stay active.
Kate lives in Mill Valley with her husband, Eric. In her free time, she loves to run, play lacrosse, travel and hike with her husband.
Stacey Anheier, DPT
Stacey grew up in the bay area and enjoyed swimming and playing water polo. She received her undergraduate degree in Life Science and French from the University of Portland in 2004. She joined the club water polo team during her time in Portland traveling all over Oregon and Washington to play.
Stacey ventured to the east coast to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2011. Her doctoral thesis examined the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation on force production with people who have subacromial impingement syndrome.
Stacey enjoys working with all types of sports injuries and orthopedic rehab. Her particular passion is in Women's health and pelvic floor rehabilitation, which includes treating males and females for incontinence, pelvic pain, and women who are pre and post partum. In her free time Stacey likes to read, travel, and hang out at the beach.
Daniel Vasquez, MS, ATC
Daniel completed his Master's degree in Kinesiology and Recreation with an Athletic Training specialization from Illinois State University. While obtaining his advanced degree, he worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer in the NCAA Division 1 University's athletic training department providing healthcare to the men's and women's cross country and track and field teams. Prior to his arrival at ISU, he worked at an outpatient physical therapy clinic in Southern California. In 2006, he received his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an Athletic Training focus from California State University, Fullerton. While at CSUF he worked with numerous athletic teams gaining invaluable athletic training experience. He has been a certified athletic trainer (ATC) since March 2006. Daniel continues to stay involved in the athletic training profession at the district and national level and attends professional meetings and seminars regularly. He currently resides in Novato with his girlfriend (Lily) and 3 cats (Audrey, Austin, and Mia). In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies, working out, learning, and spending time with his girlfriend and cats.
Gina Zapparelli, ATC
Gina Zapparelli, ATC, a graduate of Northern Arizona University, with a B.S. in Athletic Training, has recently joined the Novato staff. Gina, who was born and raised in Northern California, brings with her several years of athletic training experience focused on high school and college athletics including injury treatment, rehabilitation and conditioning. Most recently, Gina has been providing athletic training on behalf of SSTM, for North Bay FC Wave Ð the first women's premier soccer league team in Marin to showcase top local and national talent.
A resident of Santa Rosa, Gina's love of athletics and exercise, led to a career in physical therapy. When not working, she enjoys reading, traveling and staying active.
Colleen Basaldu, BS, ATC
Colleen is originally from Southern California where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, with an emphasis in Athletic Training, at California Lutheran University. Colleen's interests in athletics and the emphasis of rehabilitation and conditioning led her down the path of physical therapy. She has gained her experience in outpatient physical therapy starting in her hometown of Santa Clarita Valley and then continuing south to San Diego. Colleen is an active member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) and attends national and district annual meetings. Colleen resides in Petaluma and enjoys outdoor activity, working out, coastal runs, traveling and promoting good health.
